The media landscape is fundamentally changing, and in order for public radio stations (NPR affiliate stations) to not only survive but thrive, they must establish a visual aesthetic as unique and distinctive as their sound. In doing so, producers, programmers and journalists are faced with practical and theoretical challenges as well as opportunities. This panel will explore how public radio stations can build interactive visual components with the goal of becoming a hyper-local non-profit multi-media presence while serving a global audience, and at the same time maintaining the standard and mission NPR has developed.
