Discoveries vs. Advance Buzz: Getting Your Film Noticed at Festivals

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

If your film is accepted into a festival, what can you do to create buzz around your screenings to help get your film sold? Which films sell and why? The industry professionals on this panel can give constructive advice on how to market your film, generate buzz online before, during and after a festival and provide success stories from filmmakers who have been through the process. The panel will also take the audience through the following: A marketing focus - What elements help a film stand out? Should I produce marketing materials to take to a festival? How as a filmmaker can you make sure your film stands out from all the rest? A publicity focus - How can you get audiences to see your film during a festival? Should I hire a publicist? How do I generate buzz online and build a community? How do you get journalists to see your film and not another? A sales focus - How are films sold to a distributor and/or sales agent? Which films sell and which ones don’t? What do acquisitions executives look for in a film? What should I do if someone is interested in buying my film? What distribution methods are open to you?
