Making Money Composing Music for TV and Film

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The debate about creating music for TV and Film is always lively and ever changing. It generally falls into 2 fascinating areas (1) the Creative Process, and (2) the Business Process. We will ask successful composers from Television and Film to tell their own stories about how people start out, and how to maintain their careers. What makes a great composer for film and television? Who chooses the composer? and who has the creative control? We will then quiz the experts from film and TV production and the music business on how music commissioning deals negotiated and contracted and how the royalties flow to composers, music publishers and music collecting societies. Everyone wants to know where the money is and how to keep hold of it. Can you make a living composing for TV and Film?
