Amy Shaw is the Senior Vice President of Community Engagement for the Nine Network of Public Media also known as KETC/Channel 9. The transition to the Nine Network of Public Media reflects the evolution of Nine from public television to public service media using all of our engagement pathways on-air, online and in the community to strengthen our community. Shaw is recognized as a national leader in community engagement and the transition of public broadcasting to public media. Since coming to Nine in 2003, Shaw has led the station in groundbreaking projects that leverage on-air, online and community engagement for measurable impact around important and complicated issues facing communities and for sustainability of public media. Most recently, Shaw led Homeland, a transmedia initiative exploring the complicated issues of immigration. Shaw developed and implemented the groundbreaking Facing the Mortgage Crisis initiative in the St. Louis region and led the national initiative guiding public media to create measurable impact in 32 impacted markets across the country. Shaw serves on numerous local and national boards and is deeply committed to the power of public media and the strengthening of communities across the country. Shaw came to Nine from WSIU in Carbondale, Illinois, after directing the station's education efforts for five years.
