Dominique Guinard

Assoc Researcher
ETH Zurich/MIT Auto-ID Labs
Hi! I'm currently a visiting researcher at the MIT Auto-ID Labs and a last-year PhD candidate at ETH Zurich. I got my MSc in CS from the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and Lancaster University (UK) where I specialized in Pervasive Computing, working on using sensor networks to support mobile interactions with all kinds of devices. I'm the co-founder of the webofthings initiative so, my research interest is in Web-inspired and lightweight architectures (REST, Cloud, Real-time Web, HTML5, Javascript, etc.) for building the Web of Things, especially focusing on enabling physical mashups with sensors, appliances and (RFID/barcode) tagged objects. I look mostly at use-cases in smart cities, smart homes and smart enterprises. So far I applied this research working with SAP, Nokia and Sun Microsystems.
