Has a B.A. in Communication from Iberoamericana University in Mexico City, and has done graduate coursework in Comparative Literature and Communications at Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and Universidad de Navarra, Spain. She is currently Head of the Communications Department at Iberoamericana University in Mexico and runs the university’s radio station, Ibero 90.9 fm and the program Prensa y Democracia (Press and Democracy). She is UNESCO Chairholder (Communication and Society), as well as Chairholder for Canal 22 (Cultural Television) and Radio Educación (Sonic Exploration). She has been responsible for the following academic areas: Research and Methodologies; New Technologies and Communication; and she has been lecturer at national and international universities. She is a member of the Network on Quality Journalism, the Iberoamerican Forum on Communication Strategies, the Editorial Board of the Journal of Global Mass Communication, the Advisory Board for the Special Commission that follows Aggressions against Journalists in Mexico (Chamber of Deputies), International Communication Association, among others. She is part of the governing body of ORBICOM, worldwide network of UNESCO Chairs in Communication. She has published on cyber-rights, digital convergence, ethics for a digital age, paths of TV technology, etc. She anchors the weekly radio show Noveno Círculo, at Ibero 90.9 fm; co-anchors the weekly radio show Zigma, Media Analysis, at Ibero 90.9 fm; co-anchors the tv show Agenda Pública, at Foro TV. In September 2007 she was appointed TV Ombudsperson at Channel 22 and anchors the corresponding weekly TV show. She has published at national newspapers such as “El Universal”, “La Crónica de Hoy”, “El Centro”, among others, and is a current contributor to “El País” (elpais.com), as well as magazines such as “Letras Libres”. She has been a translator (English, French, German, Spanish) for national and international universities, as well as for diverse Ministries.
