Jake Sigal

Founder
Livio Radio
Bolstered by a $10,000 loan from his parents and driven by a passion for music, Jake Sigal founded Livio Radio in 2008 in the guest bedroom of his home in Ferndale, Mich. Two years later, Sigal, still just 28 years old, stood established not only as Livio’s CEO but as a visionary and an innovator in the world of consumer electronics. More than 20 successful products available on the market by 2010 bore his proverbial creative signature. Prior to launching Livio, Sigal paid the bills by working as a professional DJ and a product developer for Numark, where he invented the original ION USB turntable, designed to convert sound from vinyl records to CD or MP3 format. He was also listed as the co-inventor of the iDJ, an iPod-based mixing console. Sigal’s career path eventually led to Metro Detroit, where he worked as a product line manager for Delphi’s Consumer Electronics group and was responsible for producing XM-brand satellite radio products. Sigal earned a master’s degree in engineering from Ohio University and currently sits on the university’s Russ College of Engineering Board of Advisors. He is also a board member of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Small Business Council. When he’s not traveling, wheeling and dealing on his iPhone, or tinkering with gadgets, Sigal enjoys being active. He can be found mountain biking, playing hockey, and bumpin’ the bass from the DJ booth in and around the city of Detroit in his spare time.
