Mimi Poskitt

Artistic Dir
Look Left Look Right
Mimi Poskitt is the Artistic Director of London based documentary theatre company Look Left Look Right. The company initially found success with Yesterday Was a Weird Day: Reflections on July 7th, developed in the four weeks following the 7/7 bombings in 2005 and premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe in August that year. Their 2008 production, The Caravan, was a documentary play about the UK floods of summer 2007. Staged in a real caravan, this intimate and unusual theatrical experience toured the UK and attracted wide critical acclaim, won a Fringe First Award, had sell out run at the Royal Court Theatre, London. The company’s current show Counted?, is a verbatim-play about British democracy. It originally opened and was performed in the historic Debating Chamber at the Greater London Council building in London in April 2010 and has since toured nationally. Look Left Look Right's newest project is a collaboration with Austin based Hidden Room, using skype to link performances across the Atlantic. Mimi has worked for The Guardian Newspaper and in television as an assistant producer for ITV and the BBC. In 2006 she won an Royal Television Society award for a documentary about 9/11, ‘9/11-Out of the Blue’. She also produces short films, one of which, 'We Won the War' was Category winner at the LA Short Film Festival, East London Film Festival and Cinefest, Toronto.
