Ralph Cavallaro is a founding partner & principle with New Reach Consulting, a technology solutions provider, incubator and marketing firm. New Reach’s subject matter expertise includes digital back office systems, internet marketing and envisioning next generation internet solutions. An example of which being New Reach’s envisioning, development and piloting of the music industry’s first real times digital sales auditing platform in a joint venture with Universal Music Group, Warner Music, Sony Music and the Orchard. Prior to forming New Reach Consulting, Cavallaro spent 10 years at Universal Music Group as Vice President of Digital Initiatives Global IT. Together with his US and London based staff, he completed a year and half effort to digitize the entire Universal Music Group active catalog, while building UMG’s digital asset and Metadata delivery systems, enabling UMG to supply the legitimate digital download business. At UMG Cavallaro was awarded Vivendi Universal’s “Excellence in IT Award” was nominated by his peers to chair the RIAA/IFPI’s music industry integrated identifiers project (MI3P). After chairing a two year effort, he and his MI3P colleagues submitted the first music industry standard for interoperable messaging and trade unit identifiers. Cavallaro continues to consult on digital music industry standards and online music strategy and New Reach consulting has successfully completed 3 projects in the last year that integrate the DDEX metadata standards.
